Surgery Is a Craft of Mentorship
"Surgical knowledge cannot be reduced to anatomy textbooks. It is passed on through the eye, through the gesture, hand to hand. It is a demanding heritage built on sharing, respect for one's elders, scientific emulation and fellowship among peers."
The Lyon Hospitals Residency

Dr Dominique Gindre

Dr Roland Lille

Our Mentors

Professor Gilles Bousquet, our chief in Orthopaedic Surgery at Saint-Étienne University Hospital. He taught us to determine the right surgical indication and to operate using the "no touch" technique (1981-1985).

It was our mentor Professor Albert Trillat who sent us in 1985to learn Shoulder Surgery under Charles S. Neer II in New York, and R. Peter Welsh in Toronto.

Harvard Ellman was the pioneer of arthroscopic shoulder surgery, which he passed on to us from 1987 in Los Angeles.
